My name is Todor Vankov. I am a 3D artist and 3D software developer with more
than 15 years of experience, and I am completing a retraining as a Data
Analyst this month.
My work has been architectural visualisation, reconstructions of historical
cities for documentaries, product visualisation, VR and game design, for
industrial and corporate clients among them Vodafone, Tishman Speyer and
Art-Invest. More than twenty projects, from the first requirement to
acceptance. I led a team and trained over ten colleagues.
Alongside the artwork I wrote the tools around it, in MaxScript, Blueprint,
Python and JavaScript, because the same manual steps kept coming back. At
one client that grew into a full application: a task that took a team six
weeks came down to twenty minutes for one person.
Today I do the same thing with data. SQL, Python (PCAP and PCEP certified),
Power BI with my own DAX measures and star schema models, and Microsoft Azure.
Some of what I have built recently:
A live SQL dashboard on a sales database, written in Python and Streamlit.
A tool that collects job ads from twelve platforms, removes duplicates and
validates them against my own rules, now holding 404 verified records.
A cloud data pipeline on a self researched dataset about humanoid robot
production, running on Azure SQL and Cosmos DB.
I hold a B.Sc. in Media Informatics from Gelsenkirchen and live in Düsseldorf.
I speak Bulgarian, German, English, Russian and a little Japanese.
I also make short films. One received the Special Award at the Gelsenkirchen
Short Movie Festival, another the Audience Award at the V Obektiv Film Fest in
Asenovgrad, Bulgaria. Outside work I shoot timelapses and keep aquariums.
Have a look at the projects, and feel free to write to me.
